Goochland, Virginia
Pure sludge congealed and extruded into a rectilinear prism of humongous size, growing in both girth and height, independently. It consumes everything in its path without destroying it. Nothing is lost, only eaten by something I can only think of as an organism of light and sound. And then the spectacle of it: a black void on the horizon, visible from space, still rising. We are not sure what to make of it, or why it happened. It just did.
